Your stomach loves bilberries - Natural Nordic

Your stomach loves bilberries

Natural Nordic Bilberry pie

As spring turns into summer, Finnish nature is in full bloom, soon offering its delicious treasures. Our pure Finnish nature and its biodiverse forests provide us with healthy and versatile ingredients with unique flavors. Once harvested, these ingredients are carefully processed into our artisan products in the most natural way. Our selection includes products made from Mother Nature’s gifts, such as lingonberry, bilberry, chaga, and mushrooms, along with cranberry, sea buckthorn, and blackcurrants.

Have you tried the tart and sweet taste harmony of a cranberry?

The harvest seasons of berries and other natural delicacies vary. Bilberries (Vaccinium myrtillus) are usually ready to harvest from mid-July until late September. Lingonberries (Vaccinium vitis-idaea) ripen in late August and can be harvested until early October, thriving in luminous, dry peaty forests. Sea buckthorn (Hippophae rhamnoides), found along Finnish coastlines, requires ample sunlight to grow. Cranberries (Vaccinium oxycoccus) ripen later, harvested from early September until the first snowfall, growing in nutrient-poor but luminous bogs and marshes.

Did you know that dried bilberries have been used to relieve stomach aches?

Summers in Finland vary greatly in rainfall and temperature. Despite these changes, our goal remains the same—to provide premium-quality products and ensure their availability. We are committed to offering outstanding culinary experiences with products that are tested in laboratories, ensuring they are healthy, safe, and free from additives. Sustainability is a guiding value throughout our entire product lifecycle. On our website, you can find detailed nutritional values and any contraindications for product use.

A commitment to sustainability and well-being

Natural Nordic continues to moderately expand its product range through innovation while staying true to our values. Sustainability is our core principle and an objective we actively work towards. We believe prosperity means both nature’s and human well-being. Honoring the pace of nature’s growth and respecting biodiversity are at the heart of our operations. True prosperity is a dialogue—you cannot have one without the other.
